Scholarship Saviour (ABN 74 123 561 526) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What we collect
We collect personal information you give us when you call us, email us, make an appointment or complete a form on this website. This may include your name, phone number, email address, state, preferred contact method, details about your family and financial circumstances that you choose to share, and, for Associate applications, your resume.
When you use this website we also collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device, pages visited and how you arrived at the site.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation.
- To assess and provide our services, including referrals to our tax, legal and accounting advisers where you ask us to.
- To consider applications to become an Associate.
- To understand how this website is used, so we can improve it.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with our Associates and professional advisers (such as accountants, tax advisers, lawyers and insurers) where needed to provide the services you ask for, with service providers who host this website and deliver our email, and where required by law.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers, including website analytics and email providers, may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Where we work with overseas students, information may also be shared with our representatives in the student’s home country, such as China. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle your information consistently with the APPs.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses a small number of cookies, small files stored on your device. A preference cookie remembers your privacy choice. Analytics cookies are off unless you allow them in the privacy banner; you can change your choice at any time using ‘Privacy choices’ at the foot of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Google Analytics 4 (only if you allow analytics) collects information about how you use the site, such as pages visited and time on site. Google processes this information on our behalf. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalisation. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity (only if you allow analytics) records how visitors interact with pages (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement) to help us improve usability. Clarity masks text you type into forms and other sensitive content. Learn more in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Advertising and remarketing. We do not currently use advertising or remarketing cookies on this website. If we start, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy. You can manage ad preferences through Google Ad Settings and your Facebook ad preferences.
Embedded content
Pages may link to or embed content from other websites, such as Google Maps or news publishers. Those sites may collect data about you under their own privacy policies.
Contact forms
Each form on this website shows a short collection notice explaining why we are collecting your details, who we may share them with and where to find this policy. We ask you to confirm you have read it before sending, and we keep a record of which notice you saw and when.
We only ask for what we need to respond: your name, contact details and, optionally, your state, preferred contact method and a message. Information you submit is emailed to our team and stored securely in our website database. Resumes uploaded with an Associate application are stored in a private folder that is not publicly accessible and are emailed to our team.
Please don’t include sensitive information (such as tax file numbers, bank details or health information) in a website form. We will collect what we need securely during your consultation.
Children and students
Our services are for parents and guardians, and for adult students. If a career counselling enquiry is about a student under 18, we ask that a parent or guardian completes the form, and we deal with the parent or guardian about the student’s information.
Direct marketing
We only send news and updates by email if you tick the optional box on our forms (it is never pre-ticked, and you don’t need to tick it to make an enquiry). We record whether you opted in. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, consistent with the Spam Act 2003. We respect the Do Not Call Register. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time. We never sell or trade your personal information.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access limited to staff who need it, strong passwords and software updates.
How long we keep it
Website enquiries and attached resumes are automatically deleted from our website 24 months after they are received. If you become a client, we keep the records we need for as long as the law requires (for example, tax records). When we no longer need personal information, we destroy or de-identify it.
Data breaches
If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Automated decisions
We do not use computer programs to make decisions about you that could significantly affect your rights or interests. Every enquiry and application is reviewed by a person.
Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting our privacy officer using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. You can also ask us to stop using your information for marketing, or to delete an enquiry you have sent through this website.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
